The summit will commence from November 28. The Telangana government is leaving no stone unturned to welcome Ivanka Trump in a grandeur manner. Trump noted the event’s theme of “Women First, Prosperity for All.” She says: “Entrepreneurship domestically and abroad is a key priority for this administration.” She will give a keynote address and appear on two panels. The conference is expected to draw more than 1,200 entrepreneurs and others. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also attend the event. The Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 being hosted by India along with the US is a testament to the “strong friendship” between the two countries, Ivanka has said.
Here are the key highlights of preparations going on to welcome Ivanka Trump
1. It has been learnt that Telangana government is beautifying Hitec (Hyderabad Information Technology, Engineering and Consultancy) City area. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is replacing every worn stone with interlocking tiles and new pavements and flower beds are being laid.
2. Roads that needed repairs for months are being resurfaced.
3. Apart from this a drive has been reportedly launched to ensure that beggars are out of sight.
4. A budget of nearly Rs 100 crore, including corporate donations, was enmarked for preparations.
5. However, two star attractions expected at the summit, Deepika Padukone and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, have pulled out citing personal reasons, said sources. A proposed concert of A R Rahman is also not yet finalised.

6. Sources said US security officials have hinted to state government officials that if information regarding Ivanka’s visit is leaked, the trip might be cancelled.
7. The Hitec City flyover was spray-painted in all hues while artists painted peacocks on nearby walls.The 2km stretch from the Hitex entrance to Hyderabad International Convention Centre at Novotel, where the summit would be held, has been lined with palms, bougainvilleas, flowerbeds and clay figurines of elephants and deer.
8. The 8th edition of the summit is being hosted by NITI Aayog in partnership with US government. Ivanka would be attending events on the first day.
9. She will also attend a dinner at Falaknuma Palace hosted by the PM on November 28 where the VIPs will dine at a Nizam-era table with 101 seats. The Falaknama itinerary of the PM and Ivanka has the GHMC and Hyderabad Police in knots.
10. “The route to Falaknuma is tricky. It goes through areas which GHMC is finding difficult to beautify and maintain. It is going to be a nightmare for traffic police to divert traffic and for police to sanitise the area. Police are conducting raids to squeeze out anti-social elements… Water and sewerage board has asked officials to maintain vigil when Ivanka is here,’’ a GHMC official said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will host a dinner next Tuesday for US President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka at Hyderbad's Taj Falaknuma, which claims to have the "world's largest dining hall."
Tuesday - November 28 - is when the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) begins in the Telangana capital. Ivanka Trump will lead the American delegation to the event, which is co-hosted by the US and India.
With less than a week left for the GES, Hyderabad is getting decked up as it prepares to welcome 1,500 delegates from 150 countries.

The roads, many of them battered by rains, are being re-carpeted: municipal workers are filling up potholes and covering open manholes.
Over 200 beggars have been shifted to shelter homes in two jails. However, officials said they'd already working to make Hyderabad beggar-free and that the drive wasn't related to Ivanka Trump's visit.
WORKERS RACE AGAINST TIME
The venue of the three-day summit - a sprawling 35-acre campus which comprises the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) and the Hyderabad International Trade Expositions (Hitex) - was abuzz with activity, as workers raced against time to provide final touches.
Access to the HICC has already been restricted. Security personnel have erected barricades at all entry points, and are thoroughly checking visitors' identities before allowing them in.
HICC, a huge convention centre equipped with world-class infrastructure, is getting a facelift for the summit.
Work was in full swing at the HICC, where central government officials have already opened an office to ensure smooth arrangements for the summit.
The convention centre, where a 6,000-delegate plenary can be held, has hosted many global events since 2006. These include the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, the Asian Development Bank meeting, the Global Investors Meet and the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity.
INAUGURAL SESSION
Ivanka Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the inaugural session on the evening of November 28. Trump will speak at another session the next day.
The inaugural plenary and other sessions will be held at the HICC, while the nearby Hitex complex will be used for other summit related activities.

Vehicles of officials, including security agencies could be seen zipping through the HICC-Hitex complex, located about three kilometres from Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy City, popularly known as Hitec City, the IT hub which houses several global tech giants.
Workers of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) were seen relaying one-km road that leads to the venue from Hitec City road. Work was also under way to relay footpaths, paint kerbs and flyovers and beautify medians.
Similar activity was seen on the road which leads to Westin Hotel in Mindspace Raheja ITPark, where Ivanka Trump is expected to stay during her two-day visit.
MODI, TELANGANA GOVT TO HOST DINNERS
Taj Falaknuma, the palace hotel where Modi will be hosting a dinner for Ivanka Trump and other delegates on November 28, and Golconda Fort, where the Telangana government is hosting a reception for delegates the next day, were also being spruced up.Falaknuma is located in the old city of Hyderabad, about 30 km from HICC. The area is virtually under the control of the police and security agencies working to ensure fool-proof security.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will host a dinner on November 29 at the historic Golconda Fort.
As both Ivanka Trump and Modi will have left the city by then, the dinner will be attended by other delegates.
"The state government is spending Rs 8 crore on organising the summit, dinner and transport arrangements," said Jayesh Ranjan, secretary, Information Technology and Commerce, Government of Telangana.
This doesn't include the money being spent by GHMC for beautification around the venue, Falaknuma, Golconda and also near the star hotels where the delegates will be staying.

Ivanka Trump to be in Hyderabad for only a day

The next day, Ms Trump will address the morning session of the GES and leave from the Shamshabad airport by noon.

Hyderabad: US President’s adviser Ivanka Trump will be in the city for less than 24 hours according to the schedule drawn up for her for the GES. Upon landing at the Shamsbahad airport on November 28, she will be driving straight Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), the venue of the summit.
From there, she will go to Taj Falaknuma for the dinner hosted by the Central government and will stay overnight at Westin Hotel.

The next day, Ms Trump will address the morning session of the GES and leave from the Shamshabad airport by noon.
Even though the city was spruced up as never before for his visit, Ms Ivanka’s itinerary does not include a city tour. The US delegation will be guarded by four-layer security.
November 28 is being counted as Day Zero of the summit, as there would be no panel discussions or workshops, except the inaugural ceremony featuring Prime Minister Naren-dra Modi, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Ms Trump.
Most VVIPs will leave the city on the first day. By November 30, the GES will have homegrown and a few international entrepreneurs.
A breakfast meet will be held on the morning of November 30 by the state government in association with The Federa-tion of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Comm-erce and Industry (FTAPCCI).

New Delhi: Ivanka Trump is not merely the daughter and advisor to the President of the United States of America, the former model and businesswoman has more accolades than just the ‘silver-spoon’ that she was born with.

“Entrepreneur, passionate advocate for education and empowerment of women and girls” is how Ivanka describes herself on her social media pages. The second child of the Donald Trump was 24 when she joined her family business in an executive role, prior to which she worked briefly for Forest City Enterprises.

However, the flight to corporate stardom began in 2007 when she partnered with a diamond vendor, Dynamic Diamond Corp, to bring to the retail stage ‘Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry’, a diamond and gold jewellery line sold at her flagship store in Manhattan, USA. In November 2011, her retail outlet moved from Madison Avenue to 109 Mercer Street, a larger space in the fashionable Soho district.

Every spike has a period of lull, it happened with Ivanka’s business too.

On October 2, 2015, retail website racked.com reported that "Ivanka Trump's flagship store on Mercer Street appears to be closed". Noting that the shop had been "stripped clean", the report said that it is not clear when the shop stopped doing business.

Braving the hurdles, Ivanka went on to spread the wings of her retail product to Canada, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

Ivanka’s prowess as a leading businesswoman was acknowledged by the Wharton Club of New York in 2012 when the alumni association of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania for the New York metropolitan area, gave Ivanka the Joseph Wharton Award for Young Leadership.

Ivanka also went on to become Executive Vice-President of Development & Acquisitions at the Trump Organisation. In December 2012, members of 100 Women in Hedge Funds elected Ivanka to their board, an honour only bestowed upon a few.

She now has her own line of fashion items, including clothes, handbags, shoes, accessories and more, which are available in all major US departmental stores.

Prior to venturing into business, Ivanka walked the ramp in her teens. She was featured on the cover of the May 1997 issue of ‘Seventeen’, which ran a story on "Celeb Moms & Daughters".

After she joined the Trump Organisation in an executive position and started her jewellery, shoe, and apparel lines, she appeared in advertisements promoting the Trump Organisation along with her products.

The daughter of the President of arguably the most powerful country in the world is “excited”, as she tweets, for her visit to India as the representative of the US contingent in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, 2017 to be held in Hyderabad from 28 to 30 November.

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump's entrepreneur daughter Ivanka, who is flying to India next week to attend a business conclave, will have a lot of non-business-y things to do when she is in Hyderabad, including a trip to the Falaknuma Palace.

Ivanka Trump, described as her father's most influential adviser, will address the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 28 at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).

A former model, who also founded her eponymous fashion line, Ivanka will speak at a session on 'Women first, prosperity for all'. Reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan will also be present on the inaugural day. About 1,500 delegates, over half of them women, from 150 countries will participate in the three-day summit.

Besides attending the official dinner to be hosted by PM Modi at the 101-seater dining table, one of the longest in the world and a highlight of the Falaknuma Palace, Ivanka will take a tour of the opulent palace, a majestic blend of Italian and Tudor architecture. Built in 1893, the scorpion-shaped palace with its luxurious interiors was converted into a hotel by the Taj Group about a decade ago.

As most VVIPs will leave the city on the first day itself, Ivanka will have about 24 hours in the city during which she is expected to visit the old city as well as the Charminar, the iconic symbol of Hyderabad which is just three km from Falaknuma.

The US first daughter is also likely to shop at Laad Bazaar or Choodi Bazaar, which is famous for its bangles, semi-precious stones, pearls, jewellery and silverware etc.

While Ivanka's schedule has been kept a secret by the US authorities, Telangana government officials have not ruled out the possibility of her visit to historic Makkah Masjid and Chowmohalla Palace, both located near Charminar.

The Telangana police have made elaborate security arrangements for her visit which include commandos armed with sniper rifles and bulletproof and mine-resistant Limousines.

With less than a week to go for the summit, the city is busy with the preparations. As Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao hosts a dinner for the delegates at the historic Golconda Fort, it has been given a uick spruce up. The roads in the city have been recarpeted, the buildings have got a fresh coat of paint and efforts are on to ensure a beggar-free city, which the authorities have clarified is not related to Ivanka Trump's visit.

Greater Hyderabad civic body goes hi-tech to supervise work progress

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters is shortly to be equipped with a giant LED screen in an exercise to monitor day-to-day progress of ongoing works.

According to the officials, a 10x28 metre screen will be installed on the seventh floor of the GHMC headquarters.

The corporation has also decided to install 30 screens incorporated with a camera in all circle and zonal offices and three screens in the offices of the commissioner, mayor and additional commissioner. The set up will have a special mechanism at an estimated cost of Rs 3 crore for conducting video conferences.

Besides, three bulletproof and mine-resistant Limousines are being flown into India from the US for the security of Ivanka Trump as she would be travelling by road.

HYDERABAD: Expert marksmen from Telangana's elite Greyhound (anti-naxalite force) and Octopus (anti-terror) commando teams will be positioned at vantage points for the security of Ivanka Trump+ and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), Falaknuma Palace and Miyapur for both the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) and metro rail inauguration.

The commandos will be armed with Russian-made Dragunov sniper rifles. The rifle with optical sight and night vision is a sniper's standard weapon designed to destroy single targets.

Telangana police commandos are already equipped with Dargunov sniper rifles and have been using them during public meetings of the Prime Minister and chief minister.

Among other security arrangements, three bulletproof and mine-resistant Limousines are being flown into India from the United States by the US Secret Services for the security of Ivanka Trump as she would be travelling by road.
